Before and After
Through our initial conversations, I learned that this patient has never had much breast tissue. She explained to me that she felt “bottom-heavy.” After hearing that she prefers how she looks when she wears padded bras, I knew this was one indication that a breast augmentation would look great and be the right procedure. I have always believed that there is an ideal breast size for each woman that balances body proportions and helps her to look taller and thinner. Being that the current trend for body-type is slender, fit, and athletic, we were able to decide on this ideal size together. A common misconception about breast augmentation is that “bigger is better.” But too much of a good thing is not a good thing. When patients receive breast implants that are out of proportion, this can have the opposite impact that they are looking for; adding an appearance of more weight and upper-body heaviness which may make them look shorter and heavier. After our conversations, this patient and I developed a size, shape, and position of implants that was just right for her.
