Labiaplasty – St. Louis
Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure that helps the vaginal area look and feel better. Puberty, pregnancy, childbirth, weight fluctuations, and age are all reasons why this part of the female anatomy can change. Labiaplasty surgery is performed on the inner (minora) and/or outer (majora) lips of the vagina, reducing the size, thickness, or length of the labia. Labiaplasty can also reshape the labia if they are uneven or uncomfortable, thus improving their appearance and reducing associated discomfort. Many women today are seeking a one-time fix for this part of their body so they can wear the outfits they want to wear and feel comfortable both in and out of their clothing. This is an outpatient procedure requiring little to no downtime and the results are instantly apparent. We take pride in the fact that women of all ages are comfortable coming to discuss this topic with us.
What You Can Expect
ProcedureWhat does the procedure entail?
Labiaplasty: This routine surgical procedure is performed for cosmetic, hygienic, pain-relief or functional reasons. It can be performed alone or in conjunction with procedures such as a tummy tuck, breast surgery, liposuction or a pubic surgery.
Pubic Surgery: The mons pubis, or in and around the female/male genitalia, is skin and fatty tissue. This area can be reduced, tightened, and lifted to restore normal secondary sexual characteristics in women or men.
RecoveryWhat can I expect?
Labiaplasty: Immediately after surgery, women will see a difference. Labia are smaller and more contained. There will be temporary, minimal swelling. Normal routines are established the next day. More physical activities can resume in 3-4 weeks.
Pubic Surgery: Reduction, lightening, and tightening of the tissues above the genitals instantly make the patient more comfortable. Downtime is dependent upon the specific surgical technique used, but most patients return to work and routine activities the next day.

Pubic surgery: Age, fluctuations in weight, childbirth, or genetics can affect the appearance of our public area. Women might have a droopy or fatty mons pubis which pushes the sensitive body parts lower. In men, accumulation of fat in this area can mask normal, male genitalia.
