Facial Fillers -St. Louis

NS

This is a Non-Surgical Procedure

Collagen decreases as you age, leading to lines, wrinkles, and creases around the nose and mouth. As our natural fat depletes, a loss of volume in the mid-face also contributes to fine lines. Facial fillers add volume back into targeted areas to renew the appearance of the face and to minimize wrinkles.

The RHA® Collection

While options to suit every patient’s unique desires are available, Dr. Gurley prefers to use the RHA® Collection of dermal fillers from Revance and Teoxane. These resilient hyaluronic acid fillers are globally recognized as the most natural option on the market. Their molecular structure closely mimics our own hyaluronic acid, allowing these fillers to not only look beautiful but also function and maintain their appearance exceptionally well. Dr. Gurley chooses the RHA® Collection of injectable fillers because they hold up well, look natural, and perform well in dynamic areas of the face. Dr. Gurley says, “My patients love that no one can tell they have even had filler!”

What You Can Expect

ProcedureWhat does the procedure entail?

A facial filler, or dermal filler, is a product that has been formulated with ingredients that add volume to a specific area. A good percentage of fillers used today are made with hyaluronic acid which is a natural sugar compound that reintroduces volume by binding to water molecules. Dr. Gurley will inject the solution into targeted areas for the best results for your face.

RecoveryWhat can I expect?

Recovery is minimal with this procedure. You could expect a few bruises that should dissipate within one week.

CandidatesWho is a good candidate?

You may be a candidate for this procedure if:

You have deep creases around the nose and mouth; you have hollowing under your eyes, or if you want to address scarring, flattened cheekbones, or shallow lines around the corners of the eyes.

Speaker 1: My thought is a little fullness in the cheeks will help bring the skin up. That would be beautiful and it will be subtle, and then a little bit in the lips to stretch again and kind of get that fullness back. That will be beautiful. Shall we get started? Okay. Are you feeling any pain?

Speaker 2: Good.

Speaker 3: Look how it pulls up that whole side of your face.

Speaker 2: Probably the most common filler is an HA filler HA actually is a natural occurring substance in the body. It’s in our eyes, it’s in our joints, and it acts as a lubricant. It also attracts water molecules, so it’s extremely hydrating. It glides and it’s just beautiful for the tissues.

Real Results

Real Artistic Outcomes

Can you think of anyone better trained to place your filler than a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon? When it comes to dermal fillers, more is not always better. Dr. Gurley herself injects filler, taking it very seriously. She ensures that you receive the proper amount of volume and she accurately places it for optimal results. The importance of the correct placement of the filler cannot be over-emphasized. Can you imagine having filler put in the wrong spot? Dr. Gurley’s knowledge of blood vessels and nerves allows her to safely and accurately add volume. “As a surgeon, I know where the vital structures are; I don’t guess,” says Dr. Gurley. Incorrect placement of filler not only leads to poor aesthetic outcomes, it can also affect vision and movement.
