Otoplasty (Ear Pinning)

What is an Otoplasty?

Otoplasty makes the ears less prominent.

What is the expected outcome of an Otoplasty?

Ears will be less obvious and closer to the head, with hidden incisions.

How is an Ear Pinning performed?

Otoplasty is completed in the operating room. Incisions are behind ear.

Are there any alternatives?

People may choose to do nothing, or hide the ears.

What is the recovery process like?

The ears are protected for 5-7 days. It takes approximately 2-3 weeks for swelling to subside.

Does an Otoplasty involve any risks?

Risks include asymmetry, and potentially a relapse if sutures get pulled out.
