What is the procedure like?
You will receive a simple blood draw, Dr. Gurley and her staff will purify the platelets and growth factors and re-inject them back into your skin and problem areas. You are topically numbed therefore the whole treatment is very tolerable.
What is the risk of PRP injections?
Make sure you are in the hands of a guaranteed board certified practice where the staff has been trained and sterile equipment is used to avoid infections and failure of the process.
What is the recovery process like?
Initially you will be red you may possibly have some swelling and bruising that could last up to 3 days*. We call it a “social” down time. It should not interfere with your daily tasks. You will need to return in 4-6 weeks for another treatment. Expect to have anywhere from 3-5 PRP treatments for the optimal result*.
