Bigger is Not Always Better

As a plastic surgeon, I enjoy working with patients to help them look more in tune with how they feel. Unusually large breasts can often make a woman look and feel like someone she is not. So it is reassuring to hear, time and again, my patients say, “Breast reduction is the best thing I ever did,” and “I wish I had done this sooner.”

In Search of the Ideal Breast

For many women, breast augmentation, using FDA-approved silicone implants, can be the ideal solution. Yet so often they are afraid to take the first step. Will I really look like myself? Do I really want to undergo surgery? How will I know how big to make my breasts? Will it look natural?

Is Your Sunscreen Really Helping?

This summer, when you relax by the pool or tackle another round of golf, make sure that you have adequate protection against the sun’s harmful rays.

A common misconception is that a sunscreen with a high SPF (sunburn protection factor) is all you need for protection. It’s true, a product with an SPF of 15 will screen out 93 percent of the sun’s UVB radiation. SPF 30 filters out 97 percent. Of course, that’s only true if you keep applying the product, as swimming, sweat and even toweling off can remove that protection pretty quickly.
